Project Description
For this project, I designed a specialized drawer-style printer for "RC Solutions," tailored to the needs of an architect friend who wanted to plot architectural plans. This version features a custom cross-shaped frame and utilizes a belt-driven system, powered by two NEMA 17 stepper motors, to control the X and Y axes.
The unique cross design provides stability and precision, while the belt mechanism allows for smooth and accurate movement of the pen over large-format paper. The printer is constructed from a combination of 3D-printed parts and robust materials, ensuring durability and consistent performance. This custom plotter enables the automated drawing of architectural plans and technical sketches, making it a valuable tool for design and presentation tasks in an architectural environment.
