Project Description
This mini weekend project was developed for a friend who wanted a compact mechanical arm capable of handwriting postcards. The device is based on a custom-built plotter arm, featuring two NEMA stepper motors for precise X and Y movement, and a servo motor to raise and lower the pen. An Arduino Mega serves as the main controller, running modified software to handle the motion and pen control.
Drawings and handwriting are processed using LaserGRBL, allowing for easy conversion of digital text and graphics into pen-written postcards. The result is a small, functional plotter arm that can create personalized, hand-drawn postcards with minimal setup.
